Here's a lnk to the Teardrop Times which is a great resource for parts. My fenders are original 1947 Kit fiberglass fenders. They are really pretty primitive ( even considering they were made in 1947 out of 'glass ...), but that just adds to their beauty, in my eyes ... :)

This is my friends '60 with an Alaskan, He has owned the truck since new. He wants to transfer the camper to his new truck and then I'm gonna buy the Ford. He will be excited to see the pics of yours.

"Fire under the awning and on top of the carpet? "

LP baby!! You can touch the bottom of the fire pan with your hand and the heat dissapates so rapidly at 36 inches that by 5 feet, it's barely warm. I will never cut, buck , split , stack , drag or haul firewood again and I don't care if that part isn't nostalgic! I keep telling myself that the LP fire vs wood is like the V8 engine, just getting better with time :)

I saw an Airstream motorhome for sale in town today. I knew they made campers but i had no idea they did motorhomes.

Wouldn't one of those be ridiculous for pulling an Airstream trailer? :D

I wonder if this one is an Airstream as well?

Looks like it's a MESA or MEGA according to the name above the radiator fill door.

  17. There was an outfit up in B.C. that was making new old Shasta style trailers, they were gorgeous but I think not enough buyers to keep the company going, I'll post the name once I remember it. Edt: found a review

  18. Newfisher- I absolutely love your 'Burb. Now I see the camper and its over the top! Too cool.
Someday I hope to have an early suburban, either an Advance Design or an Art Deco. I have a 2whl drive '68 3dr that I use for moving the family and some towing, but I'm itching for an older one. Not the easiest rig to find that isn't rusted to bits.. Thanks for putting up the camping pics. Greg

  19. I like this one.

How about this one? Picked up this 1947 KENSKILL teardrop a while back. It was once owned by Jacky Lee "Mr Hot Piano", a lounge singer around Atlantic City . Rough and ready to be sure, but they only made about 500 of them, and being a glutton for punishment, I thought it would look great behind the '38 once restored...

Just got this beast. A mid 60's (these aren't titled, so I'm not sure of the year) "Del-Ray Imperial" truck camper. The International isn't mine, it's the guy's that I bought it from. He delivered it as it won't fit in my dually until I extend the jack mounts.

It's too wide to fit between the wheel wells of the Diamond T. Too bad...

I'm in Eugene. I was at last years "Dam Gathering" amongst 104 teardrops, 250 people with my 1945 KIT (titled as a 42?) Pulled with my 55 wagon I had restored.
    It was fully polished too!

Don't get your knickers in a bunch over the slightly off topic truck, 'cause the camper is BAD-ASS. Mid 60's Del-Ray Imperial, on our '76 GMC "Big Dually".

    No whimps.
