    That's good advice.

  2. I paid $1100 for my willys (see my avatar). I don't regret it. Titles aren't hard to get in MN, just a hassle. With the popularity and parts availibtilty of shoebox cars, I think it's a good choice. Offer him $1000 and see where it goes.

Best advice I can give you is join the Minnesota Street Rod Association(www.mrsa.com). It is a valuable resource and a great way to make friends. You'll be wanting a buddy or two on that project.(if you've done this before you know it's true)

PM me if you want to know more.

I'd certainly take it. A decent 50's two door with a title here in Missouri is tough to find at that price. I imagine you have the same rust issues in Minnesota that we have here. Im sure you could find one cheaper in Texas or Arizona but what's it going to cost to ship it to you?

From my experance if you are going to fix it up the cheapest car will most likely not be the cheapest when you are done.

Well, not always. Body work comes pretty expensive any more, if you can't do it yourself. That being said, I still don't think that the seller is out of line with a $1400 asking price.

,,it's only money and you can't take it with.. Sure there are cheaper ones on the other side of the planet but are you going to walk away from something in your neighbourhood that you want over a few hundred dollars...

:)Look at it this way, your buying a $100 car and paying a storage bill for 50 years , that's pretty economicle. Buyit .Then you can spend 100.000 to make it look nice like this.:DBill aka Tnomoldw

From my experience with shoebox fords, I would bet that the car will need trunk pan and the pan below the trunk lid replaced also. The big thing when you are buying a car like that is what do you want as a final product, if you are planning on building a full custom that will be channeled then who cares about the floors, if you are wanting to get something on the road this summer then you should look for something a little better IMO.
