T-Bucket build

anyone ever use a chevy inline 6 (250) in a bucket
i need motor mounts, help.!!!!!!!

 

thanks to GM interchangability, the engine and frame mounts line up. do you have the biscuits/ doughnuts/isolators that belong to the frame mounted brackets? you need those first. get some cardboard or stiff paper for patterns. with the trans yoke angle matched to the diff yoke angle (search it here) fill in the difference. two triangular gussets running between a motor mounted plate and the biscuit/isolator/doughnut mounting plate. if you dont have a welder (dont see one in the pics) take the cardboard templates to a fabricator and show him what you want. be sure to leave clearance for installing bolts and be sure the engine is centered in the frame side-to-side. the weight of the engine will compress the isolator/doughnut/biscuit, so be sure to compensate for that.

No but I'm glad to see a dare I say it (different motor)........cool man...keep posting pictures!

 

Oh, and arrange it so that the weight of the engine is loaded to the frame and compressing the front suspension. this will give you a better idea of the angles of the driveshaft, carburetor, desired frame rake, caster angle and more.
you can build some temporary plates across the front of the engine with jacking bolts to square things up. safer than a 2x4 too.

 

Do what treb says. Also if you can't find a fab shop to do it reasonable send a PM to a member on here,RPM (<<< linkey) he can make anything for your bucket, it's what he does. Infact he built my nefew's frame and made some nice brackets to mount a similer engine to what you have. I can't say more, it's not my build and I don't want to spoil anything for the kid.

They use the same motor mounts as the small block 350.Should be pretty easy to find.

What i did with my motor mounts on my 25 T was to use motor brackets off a 68 chev pu with a 250.Then i purchased mm foe 66 Impala 327 set the engine level then used a sleeve with 1/2" hole welded a pad on top of sleeve .Then used 7/16 bolt to attach sleeve to mm.I welded a plate that i tapered for looks to sleeve & to frame then put a gusset to inside for strength .T has a 292 with th 350.Jimmie King

Uh, NO. the sides of a v8 are angled and the sides of the 6 are vertical = WONT WORK.

250 mounts in my modified project. My friend Wes (El Hueso on here) built them for me.

I would like to see what the chassis engineering ones look like. I can't tell from the catalog if any of those pics are the l6 mounts.

My bad.I guess im mistaken.I do remember taking the v8 out of my truck and dropping the 6 in with no problems..maybe i changed the mounts too.I thought they were the same though.
