    Can any one tell me if a 291 desoto have harden valve seats.

    Soft seats and valves. Designed for leaded fuel of the 1950's
    We have a 291 in the shop now if you want to come and look at it apart. You are not that far away. ;)
    We are upgrading to hard seats and stainless valves for the customer.

    In theory they should have them, or they were available on all hemis through '55.

    Frontenginedragster are you doing a stock rebuild or are you upgrading cam and pistons. I was thinking of finding a 4x2 intake upgrading pistons and cam. I am looking for ideas.

    Huh? Through 55 or from 55 on....?

    Would like to know too 'cause I have a 291 Fireflite in the garage....

    All pre '56 should have them. '56 & later only Truck, Chr 300 & "power package".
