Vintage Plymouth, Mass, where the Pilgrims landed in 1620. That's the Mayflower at the dock. Plymouth Rock is a stone's throw to the left. :)

This photo shows Fountain Square before the historic fountain, old City Hall and the James Rood building were removed to make way for a more modern intersection.

That is 2/5 of the tube framed Grand Sport Corvettes. Think they were 2400 lbs. One of them is in the Simeone Collection in Philley.

"A vendor in a small newsstand talks to a customer. The stand, which appears to be near the employee parking area at the Lockheed Air Terminal plant in Burbank, offers a variety of snacks, personal items, and reading materials."

CONGRATS, Dog, and GREAT PIX today, man! Your thread hit some propitious milestones,

just as we come upon New Year and the end of the Yuletide Season. 3,000 pages, 60,000 posts,

over 13.5 million views and a (to me) amazing approval rating of 4.93 (out of five possible!).

Just since Christmas eve, there have been an average of over 28,000 hits on the thread per day.
As if the HAMB weren't ALREADY the greatest, you found a formula that created a super nos-
talgia thread within the HAMB. It's a tad different, but -- hey -- obviously, not only trad 'rod,
custom & truck people enjoy the "Vintage Shots From Days Gone By" theme! God bless
the HAMB, Ryan and all the crew ...

And as we approach a new year, I thought it would be cool to look at vintage to present shots
of veterans who've put themselves in harm's way to help keep the Free World free. THANKS,
every vet, and THANKS to everyone who's serves today! All of the following photos are with
a BIG THANKS to Squidoo.

There was no photography, of course, during the American Revolution, so this rather fancifully
embellished engraving will have to do for the winter bivouac of Washington's stalwart army
at Valley Forge in winter 1777. One thing this image does NOT show is the bloody footprints in
the snow from poorly provisioned troops. Now THAT was a hell of a dedicated army, to tough
it out when their general could barely provide enough supplies to keep them alive.

Both Union and Confederate folk were of an age of romanticism during the War
Between
the States. Here is a northern version.

I don't see any Geries in this photo, but a football diversion it is!
Below, probably a newspaper artist's romanticized version, thanks

A warm place, good companionship, some wine, a hot Christmas dinner in Korea. T'ain't the
"MASH" TV version, but, hell, beat the shit out of being outside in a foxhole on perimeter, eh?

Present day: Merry Christmas! & Happy, HEALTHY New Year!
to every current service man and woman, and every vet,
everywhere!

Christmas mail from the folks at home! Alright! My sister, a 'Nam-era vet herself,
is a member of Blue Star Mothers, and packing up "care packages" for service men
and women (year round!) at the local church is their main focus.
