I like this one. My Honda 90 3 Wheeler in 76 would match this paint exactly..
My first 55 was a solid white 150. Still like a White 55 today

 

I can slightly remember returning from the LA Street Racers, going to the Devonshire Downs Pop Festival in the old '64 GTO.
Jimi Hendrix was playing, The Hells Angels were guarding the fences, and
I would still like to know who stole the Boman light bar out of the Goat!

NICE!!! Would You happen to have any more pics of this one, by any chance? I seem to recall seeing a very similar-looking Impala in the magazine ads for a famous, large-scale Mid-West -based hot rod -gathering over the last couple of years. What style of wheels are those, BTW? Rockets?

 

No more of this one. It's the same car you saw in those (these) magazines recently. I believe the Chrome Czar(s) might have a better lead to it's present local and story behind it.

cool, but "street machine" is more of the lowered, tubbed 80's look. the 70's was the "street freak" era now referred to as "day 2" . this look was big motors,blowers, jacked up in the back and all the way around, tires sticking out, long shackles, crazy paint jobs. basically "the look" was carried over from the 60's from the old race cars being sold to build new ones to stay competitive at the drag strip. as usual most were put back on the street but still looked like they belonged on the drag strip thus the name "street freek".

 

Leave it, there is no drama to speak of and I am not interested in joining another forum.

I guess I don't contribute much, but that is my opinion on the subject.

Funny thing but a lot of the people on ths site were living their ill spent youth in the '70s.

 

And man was it fun! I even remember some of it!

 

What I remember is the most fun and I was often in such a state that I can remember it anyway I want to. Sam Clemens said that he liked being a little kid because he remember anything whether it happened or not (paraphrase). I truley believe that the '70s is part of the reason that I am still a little kid.

 

If we could only bring it back. I don't know if it was the times or the fact that I was young, but it was really fun in my opinion, even despite the war and civil unrest going on.
