Yea it looks like it has been on its roof and slid for quite a bit then after it was put where it is now, my guess is that when they widened that road and paved it they pushed some of the road over and it caved off on to the side of the car and kinda crushed it in, there is no floor in the car, I grabbed the passenger side A pillar and kinda shook the car and it just makes that rattle shaking flopping almost dead sound and movement we all know too well. If I could get the car, I would try and save it, if a person had door skins, drivers 1/4 and a floor section I think you could save the rest of the body, then all you would need is the rest of a 36 ford! LOL! I dont know......I might be crazy but I still would love to save them all....here is another one that I have been trying to buy for 30 years...still gonna fix it up some day....just pisses me off to no end....Jim

Just thought I would share a story of one that set for years, but got saved.

yep, there was 2 threads that i'm aware of on this vehicle already if others want to see those discussions.
    1 is called long-lost '32 ford was drag-racing star
and the other is called 32 ford parked since 1954 barn find.

Here's one that's no more sitting and rotting I'm rebuilding it: a rare Panhard PL17 convertible (there are about 50 convertibles known to have survive)

Wait, do you have 2 of them?

I found a Panhard sedan in the 90's and it was a contender for my first on the road car when I was young, it was a toss up between that, a Skoda Felicia, a Mini Cooper truck and a less interesting vehicles at the time.

If you're talking of the one on the jig behind it's an ugly ass Panhard Junior on which I rebuilt 80% of the body.
Those cars ain't mine they're my boss he's a Panhard freak and he's got 4 convertibles including this one.
Those cars are fun to drive: easy to put on 3 wheels in the corners and on wet road drift real easy, plus their tiny 850cc flat twin perform surprisingly well (100 mph on the freeway with the sporty DB's) :)
I don't have a Panhard probably never will except for a pre WWII but they're out of my price range.

This one will not be sitting and rotting any longer, I got it bought today!!! IT looks pretty 80's-ish but it is a really well built chassis and the car is pretty cool, a chop, needs an engine, body work and wheels and tires and it will be a much better car, but it is a good project and I got it for a REALLY good price!:D:D:D

Yea I had a thread about it when I first found the car,it is a really cool car, I just dont have the cash for the car right now, its an old mild custom out of california that was brought to Missouri years ago and has just sat for the last 35 years in a barn untill about a year and a half ago and then the guy wanted to put his tractor in the barn so the merc got shoved outside......

Here is the old thread on it: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=652756

Are you talking about the model A? The history I got on it was that it was built by a guy in TX and he had brought it to the rockaway beach rod run to sell it and that is where these folks bought it, they have let the car sit for along time as you can see, however the work on the car like the chassis is very nice work, I have known about it for several years but just about puked when I looked at it, finaly stopped and looked at it yesterday, after looking it over really well it is a very nicely built car. I would love to know some history on it for sure. Jim

The windshield looks strange, I wonder what it's from?

I remember the pastel paint years well, never liked it then, no nostalgia for it now.

That car is a hell of a find though!

  24. That caught my eye also, the rounded corners maybe? Like the tilt steering column/column shift. Needs a 8 Track in the center console...

    Great find!

If anyone finds a 62 Mercury Monterey I'm looking for the front fender accents for my car. They are super easy to remove I you find'em. One bolt holds them.

The windshield is strange, it kinda looks like it may be from a VW, it has rounded corners, it is glued in the car, there is no frame in the car now, I will be cutting that all out and putting a frame in it like it had originally, however the little A will get chopped first, and the color......well it has to go!!!! That's a pre-'98 license plate on there, what's the date on the inspection sticker, obviously been sitting a long while.
