Hey Tim, all done down south for now, the month of August was a tough one.
Then on the trip home we stopped for a couple nights in Lincoln to take in Speedway motors, buy a windshield frame and a few other things and see Speedy Bills private collection.
    Pretty impressive.
After that I started having severe pain from a tooth and the trip became hell on wheels.
    Literally.
Had to swallow more Ibuprofen than anyone should.
Had a top left molar broken in half, had it pulled yesterday and still sore.
Will be back at work tomorrow and hope to put to use all the parts I collected this summer soon.

Congrats on Bonneville, I see that you and Jake did really well. Way to show the SBC crowd what the Y Blocks can do. :)

Yes, it is very nasty and still bothering me even with the tooth pulled. I'll be glad when it heals up. I have never felt pain so intense.

I had a good day , I got my new Griffin rad a week ago or so , and today my new bomber seats from Frank Wallic showed up delivered by the big brown truck. :)

I'm really pleased with the seats, if you want to see more on Frank check out the latest Street Rodder magazine.

Thanks, Just in the middle of beefing up my Magnum bead roller and powering it with a gear motor. Will use it for the floor panels and a few other things later :)

I'll get to building my lakes headers for the Y block and the Sanderson turnouts you are sending me will work out great. One thing I won't have to build :)

I have the seats at the upholsterer now for some drop in seat pads on the bottom as well as some back pads, both of which will be removable to show off Franks work if I choose to.

I decided to get that part done now, it will make it easier to decide where (how high or low) to mount the seats with the upholstery in place.

I can then place my steering column and everything else once I see where I'm sitting :)

I have plenty to do yet. Will update when there is more to tell.

Sir, not discounting the rest of the fine work you've done on your 26T, but that bed fabrication is definitely STELLAR! Damn FINE work there!

An update :) I had an area below the bed and at the rear of the frame rails that I felt looked a little empty.

Because I had ended the frame rails and kicked them in before going up, I felt it needed something there.

My solution, a panel that is a bit of a fake out, making it appear that the frame sweeps up under the box (which it does just inboard.)

I started with a poster board pattern and then made the real thing in 18 ga metal just like the bed.

I like it, better than the hole there I think.

Wow! Did you hammer form that, or make it from separate pieces welded together?

I put the pattern together with masking tape and when I was happy I cut it apart into 2 pieces that would lay flat and then cut it out.

Used my brake for the bends and then welded the pieces together.

Finished the welds with an 80 grit flapper disc on the grinder.

  22. WOW!! That bed is nuts! You have some killer fab skills.

Nice job on the bead roller, also! What's the story on the motor and gear reducer drive?
    Grainger's?

I was pretty sure it was two pieces, unless that cool new bead roller had some SERIOUS tricks up its sleeve! :D

  28. Those fill panels turned out really nice. It looks much better than it did with nothing there. I may have missed it but are you painting the frame the same color as the body? If not are you going to paint the new panel to match both the frame and the body color?

The frame will be done body color as will the panels and bed too. Washington Blue, actually an Isuzu color that is the same.

My engine is already done in the color, the paint will be Glasurit 22 line SS Urethane.

** Edit ..The Isuzu color isn't even close. The paint I ended up using is RM Uno HD single stage urethane.
