Let's see your favorite shift knobs

This one is sweet. If a customer provides their own vector file can you incorporate that design into the knob? What is the limitation in point size?

i love this early 1930's insurance coin so I made a knob around it

 

I LOVE the look of that knob with the polished base and band and the blond wood body. Can you stain the wood any color? I guess I'm thinking about the gel stains used on guitars...

Not the greatest pic. Here are four of mine. Two from board member chromedRat, these things look way better in person. I had three more of his, but gave them as gifts to my sons and brother. My brother got the No.1 one in the fireman series.

The other two are my HAMB knobs, 1st and 2nd edition. Once again, the pictures do not do them justice.

Anyone know who the artist was who designed the cast aluminum skull knobs that Socal Speed Shop was selling about 10 years ago? I can't even find an image anywhere, just thought someone might remember.

I saw a Model A at a local show with an Orang Crush soda can as the shift knob. The car was sick! Metal flake orange with a dual quad blown Hemi and zoomies!

Here are some of mine:

 

Here are some of the ones I've been making lately. I use hand carved "hobo nickels" carved by an artist. I clean up the casting marks and sand down the shift knob and use the lathe to cut an insert for them. I used a press to dome the coin then use 2 part epoxy to attach the coin. Made a couple as gifts and sold a few so far.

Cheap chrome skull like this. I know it's tacky, but since my daughter was two, she has always wanted to know where it is every time she is in the garage with me. She's now almost 14 and still looks for her chrome skull. Even when she's not in the garage with me and I see it in the top of the tool box, the thing makes me smile.

 

Anybody have any idea of the era this two faced shift knob ?

 

Can't believe I missed this thread until now. I love shift knobs, and always make sure that I have an appropriate knob in my cars. First is the AG inspired piston in my early sixties styled '35 Chevy. I even stitched the shifter boot myself. Second are the much sought after HAMB knobs in my collection. Third is a small Electro Voice microphone scheduled for duty in the Dodge Brothers RPU project. Last is the brass knuckles in the t-bucket. Everything on the car is brass plated, so they only seemed to fit.
