Well got home yesterday and what to my surprise...... gonna haf to get back to work!!! PS........................... Thanks Buddy
That's a good start Carl! But your gona use a bigger pully in the bottom? Kjell ................................. Taildragger&fenderless
Well after two months of the wrong parts going back and forth and other anomolies the trans is back in one piece, course naturally the new converter required me to make a new pilot bushing..... But sometime this week maybe she will be making smoke again.... Trans with new servo..... other side ... and its a great feeling having the parts off of the woorkbench finally
Well Tim I got sidetracked with the trans but did get the lower pulley mounted......and the intake holes all matched up now on to welding
Hey Carl: Are you planning on running the blower pulley that far out on the snout? Can't really tell by the picture, but if it was mine - I'd have the pulley as close as you can to the block to reduce the amount of torque deflection you're putting on the crankshaft snout and load on the front of the crank in general. Just an opinion . . .
Na Dale thats not the final position it goes back another 1 1/2" I just slid it in with a spacer on the exist crank.......... wanted to see what it looked like with the pulley on front.....even with it back 1 1/2 it still stickes out there a ways...........but it does look cool..........
Looking good Carl This is what we call FUN! Is Santa comeing by with some stuff..?? Kjell .................................. Taildragger&fenderless
Well Kjell Santa didn't come here yet, but my brother in law and Crew Chief extradinaire did come by with a new toy for us. A home foundry, a really well thought out and built piece. An old 5gal propane tank gave up its shell and a few pieces of rebar an old reefer dolly to move it around in and wa la a foundry...............thanks Jack for a job well done......Carl And it ain't just pretty it works!!!!!!
Video...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PketiQSR-Ko&feature=youtu.be Watch out Dolmesh now we are really gonna get crazy!!!
Yea Trent there are those who are metal butchers like me then there are craftsmen like Jack............ Tim I think the first projects are things having to do with blower drive mounts ect. but now the sky is da limit he he.......
Now that you have gotten heat in the garage! Merry xmas Carl Kjell ................................. Taildragger&fenderless
Has anyone besides me been ticked over the 2 yr requirement on seat belts for NHRA, just had to get new ones for this year again.......... give my old ones away to Jim for his coupe....... 2 1/2 hrs labor to replace these things.... Well at least got the trans back together and started to reassemble it all, took me less time to put the engine in than the damn seatbelts!! Oh well she's back home again........... new year starts off right....
Carl, It's looking great! We have to have new certs on our belts every 2 years. Do you have to have new belts every 2 years, or just new certs?
Good ta have Her in there again Carl The 2 year limit is abir stupid when it comes to nostalgia drags, over here anyway. 10 passes last year, maybe 20 this year, and then new ones after 30 passes!? Kjell ................................ Taildragger&fenderless
