Every piece is a artifact of cool.

  6. Thought I'd add a few photos. Found a couple of pistons with colapsed skirts so a set of new Std. pistons was puchased. This was just to be a "Re-Ring" but now that new pistons are involved we decided to balance. This makes me happy as I like to balance every engine I build. It's just good practice!

note the top #s on the screen, these are the amount of grams off at front and rear of the crank.

    Getting a little better.

Now that's where I like to see it. ;)

Engine is together, paint is next.

Intake lobe center 109* as it should be.

Steel shim head gasket of .025" and piston to deck height of .020" gives a quench area of .045". just about optimum. ;)

  9. I don't have much handle on engines but thank you McTim, these posts are really handy learners/ refreshers. Inspiring posts! BTW, thanks for 50th wishes on FAS too- still getting over alcohol/ food poisoning:eek:

SWEET! What more can one say. But you know my long-time affinty for Cad power! let us know how the tranny setup works. I've been talking to squeek about getting one as shelf art for now--it just like a nice clean set-up.
