Hurst Switch??

Got a box of parts from an old friend today.
And there was this small switch with Hurst decals on it.

Can anyone enlighten me what it was/is used for and how old it is.
I guess it must bet seventies sortoff since my friend drove a US car back then.
Als got a STP fender protection thing, remind me of the good old days

 

line lock?

Yep, line lock. Holds your front brakes on while you stage at the drag strip.Mount it on your shift handle.

 

Yep, what they said. Only now I'd call it garage art because it's pretty cool with that decal on it.

Now about that STP fender cover...........

I think Hurst called them Roll Control. The same think as a line lock.
