Silent Rick - the date could very well change for next year - we will keep you posted....
there are a couple of other things that fall on that first weekend....
so we may want to get back to that second weekend in Oct.
Thanks for the input - we do listen!

But, im bustin ass to try to make it.

  6. ...what do you wanna know?...all inside vendor spots are sold out, lots of outside spaces left if you're sellin vintage stuff....no new stuff outside.
    see post #148 above.

sounds like the hotels in Woodstock are completely sold out now - gotta head over to Crystal Lake and McHenry.

We have just updated the camping page on the official site - so if you plan on camping - make your reservations NOW!

As for vending - yes we are sold out.
The only thing we have now is swap spots - that is for VINTAGE parts only.
If you are selling other stuff we will ask you to leave. If you think we are joking - ask the Hot Wheels guy that was removed from Torque Fest.

    10 x 20 swap spot is only $20.
The swap spot gets you a wristband.
The normal entry to get in is $10.
So really - a swap spot is only $10 for a 10 x 20 - The reason we have these spots so cheap is because we want to have only the good stuff at the swap meet. I do swap meets every other weekend it seems and they are all turning into flea markets. That is fine....but it is not what we want for our show.
I would rather see 10 good swap meet parts dealers than 200 lame taiwan tool, dog treat, tupperware, beanie baby selling, sunglass pushers.
Those that remember the first year at Torque Fest - we had about 8 swap meet guys......
they ALL came back the following year along with about 40 other swap dealers.
This past year we had 95 spots and we ran out of room.
I think people "get" what we are doing and appreciate it.
I hope the HAMB community will support the event and bring out the old grill shells hanging on the wall as well as those NOS guages you have had in those boxes all those years.....

We have sold out of Vendor Spots - HOWEVER we do NOT have payments from some......
    so....
vendors who have not paid will forfeit their spots to those on the waiting list if payment has not been paid by SEPTEMBER 10, 2012.

If you know a vendor that may be too busy to see this post - please tell them.
We simply do NOT have time to deal with things like collecting $$$ for vendor spots the day of the show.

This show is going to be a good time - but we are going to have to deal with everyone getting into the show during the day of....and wont have time to handle dealers, campers, hot rods, car clubs, swap meet etc all on same day.

So this is fair warning - no payments made - you could lose your spot at the show.

here is another killer feature car that will be inside one of the buildings at Iron Invasion - for those that did not get the memo - ALL the buildings at the grounds will be used - ALL will be filled with vendors and feature cars.
Special thanks to Chad and Gas Axe Garage from MI for committing to bring this amazing ride over to the show.[IMG]

There are going to be some killer kustoms at the Iron Invasion October 6, 2012.
    This is one of them....
Not too many cars out there have Barris history AND Roth history - this car has BOTH!
See it at the Iron Invasion inside one of the feature car buildings.
Special thanks to Bobwop for bringing this ride down!
This '51 Victoria started out as a hardtop - but in 1953 Barris got a hold of this ride and sectioned it five inches!
It still has the Barris badge! Check it at the Iron Invasion!

Country Inn & Suites in Crystal Lake have "about twenty rooms" available.
That is a really nice hotel.
Just mention the Iron Invasion rate and they will hook you up with a bit of a discounted rate.
    Normal rate is $129
    special rate is $95
    815-477-3500

    815-578-1900
McHenry Hampton Inn has about 20 rooms available as well

Mr Weesner got a better gig........
When an art gallery invites you to come to their place and pays for your way there and a hotel....
who is gonna turn that down?
He told me about it and I said....
    hmmm....
come to a show in Chicago or go to Australia.
    Pretty much a no brainer.

So - even though he will not be there - we have ALL of his prints including the 2 new ones available at the show....
so come in and purchase those at the Vintage Torque Booth!!!

And ya know this is a good oppurtunity for you to get to know the other artists that are at the show......
Ed Tillrock, Keven Carter, Mitch OConnell, etc

Just bad planning on my part! Overbooked myself... And in my case, as an artist, art shows do take precedence over car shows- and I was already doing art for the gallery thing, etc.- ya know... Hopefully next year I can make it to Iron Invasion!

  24. Looks like fun. Not a far drive for me and a pleasant one when taking Loomis Rd through Lake Geneva, maybe I'll check it out.

for those that think this is just gonna be another show....
we will do everything in our power to insure that this is, in fact, NOT just another show......
the above is what we do at Torque Fest.
The same group of individuals that brought that show to you....
will be bringing the Iron Invasion.
Come on out Rain or Shine

Looking forward to a great time. If its anything like torque fest, it'll be awesome. I think with the amount of time John puts into his events, it would be hard for them to turn out bad. Hell, even when it rained a bunch, he had a great turnout! Stop by and say hey, I'll have a booth setup.
