I remember in grade school we did a project where we tooled ( tortured ) copper sheets with fancy shaped wooden dowels. Is that done like that?

wow. this is some truely amazing work. it makes my head hurt. i gotta ask a question which im sure has been asked a million times before. but how are you guys doing this stuff without the panels warping like a potato chip. im at apoint on my project where im trying to do some simple stupid bead rolls and the panel has more waves than the ocean. anybody have any pointers for a beginer who is limited on tools (e-wheel, planishing hammer..) btw, im working with .037 aluminum sheet and a beefed motorized HF roller.

run them over your knee on both sides and most of the time they'll flatten out pretty good. the racecar stuff gets fastened down all the way around and no matter how warped it is a few pop ribbets into the chassis will make it flat.

On the artsy stuff I dont care what it does, just run it over your knee from every direction until its got a uniform warp and build a frame to make it stay that way.

Hendrix used distortion to his advantage, so do I.

yeah thats deffinately some trick stuff. i tried the twisting and bending nonsense but didnt fair out too well. i got so frustrated with it i tossed it. more scrap. i still need to find out a way to control the warpage because the other two panels i need to make wont have much to fasten them to.

I was looking threw the FAS awhile back and came across this image... i mess the orginal owner and asked him if he wouldn't mind if i beadrolled it. He said it was cool and so today i finaly got around to doing it. I just wanted to share and say thank you for letting me beadroll your work.

 

I wish the shop wasn't so busy so I could get back to building my model a & have you build the seats.... too much talent for one man bro!

 

Certainly not up to what You Guys do but Heres a backhalf my Son and I just finished with some tinwork. FEDER

Man NcJamey You are a rock star!, I just cannnot fathem how you do that with such smooth transitions, I'm beggin ya for a video of you creating one of these. Not that I am near artistic enough to pull it off rather just a how the hell does he do that kind of a thing.

Certainly looks like you've done enough of this great stuff for a video man, very cool .. Would buy a copy of your video if it came to this, would laos like to hear what you'd charge for a panel sent to Ontario...
