A deal was struck between one of my close friends and I got a 39!!! Well I should say my wife got a 39. It is going to be her graduation present. The game plan, get it trustworthy and drive it. Later make it a serious car.

If someone knows the history on this car I would love to hear about it. It came from Cali, and the title says, Seriously, the guys last name is Matranga. Could it be a son? Nephew? any relation to Nick would be killer. Someone has put a lot of quality work into her. She just needs finished. I'm gonna do my best. here are some pics.

I was just searching your website, I was hoping you would know the history of the car. I have learned a lot about customs through your threads.

  9. Have you tried a people search (ZABA.com) you have title with an address should be fairly easy to track down and come up with a current address.

    Thanks....

I was looking for any leads on the past of this merc in my off line files. But so far no luck. What kind of dash does the car have, 1939 or 1940 Merc?

Even if there's no relation to Nick, you can call it the Matranga Merc! What are the odds that a chopped 39/40 Merc would be owned by a guy named Matranga? It'd be like buying a chopped 51 Merc from a Hirohata.
    Great looking car! Lucky Wife!

  29. I would try to find a way to keep that title. Most states require you to turn in a title to get a new one.
What a great find. I hope you do the Matranga style window channels.
