I just was at u pull it last weekend and seen this what I believe is a 62 ford wagon. I thought I'd tell you guys if anyone in the area wants to get parts. I've been noticing alot of old car there for some reason. It still had alot of good parts left. They only seem to leave the cars out a week or two before they crush them. The bad part is nobody seems to pull parts off the really old cars. Here is a picture I took.

Man, I hate to see those things go but that looks like a fair bit of rot in the lower body.

If it were a thousand miles closer and I could find time I'd be grabbing the rear quarter glass, anything good off the tailgate, the front suspension lower control arms, the whole rear load floor and third-row seat if it's a 9-passenger, maybe whatever good trim I could get off of it.

  9. looks like alot of good parts left.....

Wow that´s a shame, that´s a good-looking style of wagon, too. That´s a ´61 model BTW, the last model year with tailfins. Wonder how it ever ended up there at that age, complete as it looks, it could´ve made a fun driver with moderate effort.

Good parts nuthin'. It's a real shame that car is in there. I wish someone would save it ad build it.
Very sorry to see that. :(

Is that at the North or South U-Pull-It?

Just saw a 61 Galaxie 2-door hardtop in the pick-a-part in Indy 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, I was just a bit late because all the long quarter panel stainless trim was gone. I did come out with some excellent door trim though.

Didn't have the 406 in 1961. Could be a hipo 390. It was an option even in the wagon. :)

Man, I'd grab those gauges, that rearview mirror, the ashtray on the back of the seat and that ice scraper.

Looking for a 62 tailgate with the glass and motor. Too bad I'm not closer. This one looks like a 61 but the tailgate would probably work.

Rob Lee and I were there at the same time and it hurt me to see a wagon wasting like this. The y-block in it looked complete. I didn't notice the gauges at the time, could use those. Good to meet you Merc man. The yard was very empty, they seem to be moving them out sooner and going for more scrap and less parting out with prices still high. ~sololobo~

It was great meeting you guys to. I hate see cars like that in there! It does seem like they crush them really fast! I post more if I see any older cars.

    Thanks
