Where have I been? I just discovered this great forum. Love all the pics and feedback provided in the HAMB. Thought I'd share my newest project, 55 gasser. I found this car in a backyard in No. Ca. where it had been sitting since the early 80's. Needs floor pans, but the body is really straight. Just started on it last week. Got the new frame rails tac welded. Gonna order the straight axle from Speedway and hopefully have it installed in the next couple of weeks. I'll continue to post pics as I progress.

Got everything welded up. Set the axle at 7.5 degrees. Next is the shock mounts, engine mounts, brake line brackets and radiator support cross beam. Hope it sits right!

Finally made the decision to radius the quarters. I think I made the right choice.

Welcome from So.ILL. I have loved the gasser 55's since childhood. I had one that I rounded up all sorts of period correct items for but bad health and finances forced me to part with it before I really got into building it. I'm doing better now and have pursued other things (41 Ford pickup,50 Ford tudor). Good luck on your build and thanks for keeping us posted on progress.

Just mounted my tires on the rims and threw them under there to see how they look. Tires are 295/65/15's on 10 inch wheels. I'm pretty happy with it. Picked up a 1957 ford 9". Smooth pumpkin and narrow width made it hard to find. In the process of relocating the leaf spring pads. Hope to have it rolling again soon.

Few pics of the trunk floor work. Had to replace about 8" of floor and put in a new rear body brace.
