Nice. Did you happen to get any photos from the rear? I'd like to see how the fenders look from directly behind, if you have them. Gary
X2. Also, is it my imagination or are there raised areas on the top outside of the frame rails used as gap fillers? GN
Gray, Not the way I would have done it , mod was already been made by Tom Woods when Dicky bought the roadster, Tom said it was the way he had seen when he was a kid.. The plus is that the rear body rails are flat . but a tall covering still needed for the A crossmember..I still prefer raising the body rail to accommodate the frame rails
..... Gary, You are very observant..Original frame, lots of sway where body meets frame.. so instead of using wood as filler, choose was made to put a 1/8 inch cut to arc of frame ,cut flat on top to fill gap...No rear shots, but rear is 59 1/2 inches , 40 ford length, 40 wheels, Model a fenders , tires are just under fenders ..Will post pictures after we get the parts reassembled ....
After seeing the rod yesterday, thinking my coupe would look cool without the top. I know jack would love to cut it off. Cool car jack.
Wow I didn't realize that this is your car. I'm glad to have been able to check it out this past weekend.
I saw in the Jalopyrama program there was a car in the armory listed as being from Newport News, and I was wondering which one it was. Mystery solved. Great car! I remember checking it out at the show, and I specifically remember that I thought that the way the gauges were laid out in the dash was pretty cool.
Toe and Bob ,Thanks but I must clarify , the 29 belongs to good friend Dicky Hamliton, We had a great time bringing it back after the body sat since the wreck in 1933...Yes almost 80 years......Now on to the (Deuce 3/window hidden away for 45 years) thread..
