I think you should be fine with the 165's, what are you doing with the other white walls?

I sure can't figure out why anyone would make the front wheel opening smaller?

Looks like it has good potential. Good call on the front grille and bumper paint and the rear bumper. I would suggest looking for the original vertical trim under the headlights, although I'm not sure how that will work with the frenched headlights. The slot cuts are horrible though.

Can you find seats out of a '41-48 GM/Ford/Mopar and put them in? The '80s style seats will never look good.

Any suggestions for a turn signal? I want to loose the slots obviously but it probably won't happen in the next 11 days before the fall out.

How about 55-57 Chevy Truck turn signals?

It needs to be something I can get my hands on in a few days???? Any other ideas?

Does anyone know if this connection on the trans is for reverse? Or trans temp? I need to wire up a reverse switch.

That would work. My thought would be to move them out wider and a little lower, just above the bumper "wings", then fill those slots where you have your mock-up. More work, I know!!

Ordered a set but from Mac's since they are cheaper and will get here faster from NY. Thanks for the idea.

I agree, see what that would look like, it might make the headlights not seem so far inward.

If you're flipping the car, consider dying the seats black. It's a bit of work but easier and cheaper than an interior re-do. New steering wheel.

Engine; Needs black plug wires. Chrome valve covers and air cleaner.

If you won't move the headlights outboard to get rid of the "skinny fish face", at least consider ditching the hideous Hagen frenched light rings.

Grille; Needs a custom vertical tube or a wider grille that will fill up the sides. Maybe photoshop an early 40's Cad, Chevy, etc. i there for a look-see!?

You're on the right track with the rolling stock and rear bumper!

Tires and wheels came out great! Now I just need to get the center bullets to finish them off. We dropped the car back on the ground and the stance is killer. Looks like I will still have a problem with the front wheels :( I am going to try a different front spring tomorrow in order to bring up the front almost 2" Hopefully that does the trick.

After look at the pictures we decided the seats are soooo awful they immediately pull your eyes away from the rest of the car. So I ran to the local auto store and picked up some spray dye. Here is the back seats after a first coat. I think they look better.

Work continues all over the place with only a week left.

Here is a bad shot of the motor looking slightly less ugly (yellow wires gone!)

Do you know how rare a 41 olds coupe is I had one in 1955. And this is the only one I have seen. I have seen a few sedans. But no coupes.

So what do you all think of the tail light placement? I think they look so much better. I wanted to mount them in closer but the surface was too curved for the light

They look good, but you know what might look better is something like a 48 pontiac taililght, the chrome bezel had a wedge shape that made the tailight vertical on a curved surface.. its hard to explain.

    Here's a picture

hahaha steal from my other project... not a chance! I am building a 48 Pontiac at my house for me (check my signature) and I can't find a mint set anywhere. These LED 50 Pontiac tails were flush mount and just down the street at Juliano's for $90.
