Took this squarebird apart about 20 years ago for my Dad to get it ready for paint and its been sitting ever since. Finally talked him out of it. Since its already apart, I'm thinking I might as well hit it with some paint. Initially I was thinking flat black, or maybe flat copper metallic with a cream roof. Anyone have any paint color thoughts? Any Photoshop Experts want to play with a couple paint schemes? Here is the only pic I've got so far, more coming soon. Thanks. Oh yea, anyone in Norcal have a 352, 390 or 428 they want to get rid of? The original 352 is MIA.
HaHa.. Bigfive, I was kind of thinking the flat black might be a little played out. I've still got a little soft spot for the flat black though.
I like that copper and cream! Man, im with freinds. I thought I was the only person tired of seeing flat black.
I would definitely make it shiny. That's a beautiful car, and all its sculpting needs to be shown off. I would do scallops, too. The car begs for it!
Flat anything on that particular car would rank rigt up there with the other mortal sins (whatever they are). I could give you a whole list of colors that would be appealing but you can get the same list from any paint store. Turquoise comes to mind for me with a white pearl top and accents.
Semi-Gloss or flat Copper Pearl with a cream flake roof... now that would look fantastic. Kill those wheels that are on it with fire, unless you can pop some spinner caps on em.
I really like Billy Gibbons black and gold 58. rld14, yea those front wheels are a sin. Mrjynx, that is pretty sweet.
Cool to see another 58 TBird. I am up in Redding and have a couple 352s, one that I had running, but it would come with a 60 TBird body..... or I guess we could talk about what you would give for a motor..... If you need parts I do have a bunch what with the 59 and 60 sitting around. There is a guy I know that seems to be up here all the time from your neck woods fwiw.
yeah id go copper and cream squarebirds look alot better two toned good to see another squarebird build- up on here
heres a pic of mine painted semi gloss black with a silver roof i did this just to try to protect it alittle better as the original burgundy was pretty much shot
I've never been able to like second generation birds as customs.....Some of you may not like this, but if it was mine, I'd have it a factory looking cream/white and a black top.
How about gloss black body with gold or copper medium flake roof? Throw on steel wheels painted the same as the roof with Lancer caps or Caddy sabres.
I vote for the copper and cream with the lancer hub caps, ( these have always been my favorite caps).
