To lake pipe or not to lake pipe, that is the question

Title says it all. I'm looking for opinions on whether or not to install lake pipes on my 48 Plymouth. I am missing the rocker trim and I think a set of lake pipes may fit nice in that area. It still has the original flat 6 for now so they would not be functional at the moment. At some point the flat 6 or the 3 speed will go and when it does I'll be joining the V8 crowd and if the lake pipes are present, they'll be hooked up then. Here's a pic of the old girl for visual reference.

I have never seen a car where lakes pipes made any improvement.

    same with dummy spots.

cool car though. I'd try to find the rocker trim that you are missing.

Ask somebody to photo shop it. I dont think i would but thats a killer car and think it would pull from the looks.

What a great looking car, it screams hot rod! Fill in the holes where the rocker trim goes. It looks good without it. Maybe some lakes plugs (exhaust dump tubes, if you look at Speedway Motors website).

Yeah Another vote for leaving it the way it sits, or finding the missing trim....

the only reason i use lake pipes is to visually lower the car until i lower it more and to create more chrome until i get the rocker trim and some side trim..

on your car, i say no, unless youre planning on making it a tail dragger, and even then i think it would look better with the rocker trim

Don't think I like the looks of the pipes. Dump tubes might be cool though.

No lakes.....just lower it a couple of inches and perhaps a slight chop, that would be perfect IMHO. Good luck in deciding.
