Famous Dave's BBQ just across the 65 bridge on the Indiana side at Vetern's Blvd. It's franchise BBQ but not bad. There are several restaurants on Veteren's Blvd. Only about 15 minute drive from the madness of the fairgrounds.
There is also a Famous Dave's on Hurstborne Lane close to the intersection of Taylorsville rdjust south of I-64
Just a helpful hint...Pat's is CASH ONLY. Another great choice is any of the BBC's (Bluegrass Brewing Company) or Barbara Lee's Kitchen on Brownsboro Road (image an old family-owned waffle house!!)
