Event Coverage 2nd Annual Texas Nostalgia Nationals May 14, 2011

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Rusty, Jan 16, 2011.

  1. I brought the family out and had a blast. The atmosphere has changed for the better from what I remember it was 20+years ago. Rusty and Danny have a good thing going here and I look forward to the next one.

    Dan Hay's 38..

Thanks...4.90's 142 1/8th, 7.70's 175 1/4. There is a little more there but I try to keep it dependable rather than have to work on it all the time. I've got 4.10's in the rear w 33x17's so it is geared more for the 1/4. Weighs 3210#'s with me.

Loved your old truck. That thing will FLY!

Great assortment of fine machines all over the place.

I missed this event.. I wish I could have reworked the schedule and gone. Maybe I can
    make it next year.

It was a hell of a show. I took my camera, but spent too much time watching the races to get any pics.

  9. WOW, Rusty, what a great weekend for us....and the biggest of "several highlights" for me was seeing Don Ross' "Scorpion 1" pulling up at the line next to "Skotz Flathead Fever".....what a time warp:D:D:D!!!....and it was possible because of how y'all ran the day

And then for Doc letting me take several ladies down the track in his coupe:cool:....over the top!

Thanks again for creating the opportunity for us to play.

    A fun weekend for us:D!!!

super thanks for the comment on my '65 goat! "

"I built that car exactly like what I would like to have if I were 16 one more time in my life"
By the way, I found it just up the road owned by Carl Sandberg at his car lot. It was stuffed in the side of his shop and had been sitting since 1984! Carl raced it at Yellow Belly, so to bring it back was special to me. Please see pics:

I heard rumor that the "Skotz Flathead Fever" will have a new challenger at next years Texas Nostalgia Nationals.

An up and coming FED called "The Rodfather" with a Blown Mercury Flattie has the Orange Fever in it's cross hairs.

Thanks for the concern. I already have a new 1/4 panel installed, wing and bumper repaired. Will be at the Classic Chevy convention in Dallas this weekend with it. The panel is not blue yet...but it is straight!!
