After several years of work, I finally got my '40 to move under it's own power. There is still a ton of work to do, but at least this will give me some motivation... Here is a video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wesKjgaX7hU Good, bad, indifferent, what do you guys think?
i could see a big smile on your face, i drove mine for the first time a couple days ago and i felt the same, but, like you , a LOT of work still to go.... good luck, a nice looking truck, i like the 6 in it....BT
the blog and videos say 261. I am wondering the details of it. It sounds awsome! What transmission is on it?
Thanks for the positive comments... It's a 261 out of a '62 Chevy bread truck, completely stock. I used an s-10 5 speed and converted the stock '40 rear end to open drive shaft with parallel leaf springs. The front end is all stock '40 ford stuff.
There is nothing like your first drive in your hot rod. Here's me in my 40. 25 years ago now. I was 16 years old.
