I thought I’d post some photos of the Brookville roadster that I’m working on for myself. It’s a mix of original Henry parts, hand fab’d parts, and a very small amount of purchased parts. The frame consists of some stamped rails, a So-Cal Model A rear crossmember, and a custom flat front crossmember. The x-member is a modified Ionia piece with a custom center crossmember and trans mount. Well this weekend involved working on the firewall, but I did manage to assemble the intake, carbs, linkage, and frog-mouth scoops
That 39 steering box is very intriguing! I'm doing something similar...and also got a little flack from the "geometry police"... Looking forward to seeing it all hooked up.
flthd31 - My friend John Swander (Swanwaco32) turned me onto running that box. I built a '34 Ford truck with the same setup and thought the steering was great. I had no noticeable bumpsteer, and the only downside was that the draglink isn't quite parallel to the tierod. I think the benefits of having an old cross steer box (vs a Vega) far outweighs the look of the draglink. On a side note too, I used a '33-34 pitman arm (with the ball as part of the forging). I had to file out the double splines at each 90 degree increment so I could index it properly on the later box. I'll get a picture of it this week if you want to see the setup.
