History 1972 Houston car show pictures

    Just got these converted from slides( if you don't know what those are your too young to remember 1972) to digital. Maybe some Houston area Hamber's will remember it, or some of the cars.

    My dad has told me so much about that 57 gasser bad finger.. really cool pics man. its cool to see what that car really looked like.

    that looks like the houston rod and custom show. i went to afew of them when i was a kid. i remember the purple van thing, as well as bad finger 57 chevy.

    Yea, I was really into rodded Model T's back then, hence the large number of T pics. I would have been 13 or 14 then, I was building models like Lil John Buttera's T sedan. Still got it, thanks to my Mom.

    Back then the Houston show was at the Albert Thomas Convention Center downtown. I am pretty sure this is where these pictures were taken. Went every year from about 1968 till 78 or so. At some point, it moved to the Astrohall.

    Now that you mention it, I am pretty sure that's where it was, I wish I had taken more pictures.
