That's about the coolest feed handle I've ever seen on a drill press. Fully understand the "gotta buy it" deal. Frank
Hey, Kool! Now build a belt guard in aluminum to match the Art Deco shape of the quill's casting. " Meanwhyle, back aboard The Tainted Pork "
It looks like it's running as slow as it will go. It really needs a step pulley on the motor to speed it up for the small drills.
It's got a tiny chuck on it right now, but came with some others, 1 of which is a 3/4in Jacobs. If I go the polish/pinstripe route on the handle then I kinda have to resto the entire thing.. & I don't want to lose the decals on the top... & now I have this thing, I don't really need my old Craftsman 150, so does anyone in the LA County area maybe want to part with $150 for this one? I also picked up some other stuff at the sale, including 2 vises... so now I have a total of 21 vises.... This is the Morgan 40 pictured yesterday when i got home with it.. Right now it looks like this:
Bitchin score...never seen a Tiger drill press before, but looks great...now I hate my HF POS even more
I have a old Craftsman that looks exactly like your "new" tabletop, except for the guard casting on top looks like the Alien's head, and has the engine-turned trim like your (newer) floor Craftsman. Very solid and accurate, and looks kewl
Very nice ! You just can't beat the old heavy tools that are USA made ans still running like they were new ! Just shows the craftsmanship the USA use to make . Retro Jim
Actually there is one issue with it & thats hardly worth mentioning. The motor on the back is supposed to be held in place by 4 bolts, the lower 2 are missing so the motor moves around a bit when it's running causing a vibration. Easy enough to sort out so no biggie
