Yep! I bought a bunch from ebay... Some were great deals that I couldn't pass up.. I remember one guy sellin' new Big T's for 50 bucks each.. Lets just say that I now know what the shipping boxes look like for those kits..

The story I got at the time when these were made. Is th guy who had them done was Hot Rodder/ Tin plate 'toy' collector. And he wanted a 1/8th nice tin plate collectible 'toy'. I am not sure if he commissoned the build as such. But dies were made to produce the body panels and chassis rails and crossmembers. The dropped I-beam axle with integral break drums are a one piece casting, as is the rearend, radius rods and torque tube drive shaft. The aluminium wheels are made of 2 cast aluminium rims that have had the outer rim detail machined. The hub caps are a press in piece. The tyre sare solid rubber. These are a really neat thing. But like most collectible tin plate 'toy' the body pressings aren't real sharp. But I think that is part of the style of these collectibles and this one may have been done that way on purpose. These were done in limited numbers and weren't cheap. More so for me at the time I purchased it, because the Australian dollar was very low in comparison to the US dollar. But I have no regrets buying one as it is such a unique thing. These came with various options and the price varied according to the options you wanted on yours. Mine is basically the base model. Although I ordered mine with a duvall windscreen. But never fitted it, because I didn't like it's shape. Ok that is what I sought of know about this. Some of this information may not be totally accurate as I was told this stuff by someone else. I think there was a brief article about them, in Street Rodder magazine at the time they were being done. But I am thinking this may have been may 10 to 15 years ago. These models were sold as The Real Steel Roadster. I probably have some paperwork for it around here somewhere. Boy is this working my old memory elary this morning. I just rescued this "Big T" from an antique store last week. The yellow "Big Rod" was built by my dad back in the day. I recently moved to Wichita and really dig the Starbird connection to the "T".
Sonny, I have said it before and I will say it again. Your hand painted art on those models is just breath taking, I couldn't even begin to imagine how difficult it is to paint so small. Not only that but your building is first class as well. Doc.
Bwhahahaha! I remember the crayon craze! Man that was a lot of fun. Here is a 1/6 R/C 32 coupe, has a scale Hemi in it. I never got it running it ended up being a display model. I was content with two petrol cars, a Daytona Coupe and a GT40. The GT40 was uber fast, it was the fastest car in my old R/C club. Doc.
That's a Parma Hemi Coupe, should be 1/10 and not 1/6. I still have one in the wrap along with their Little Red Wagon.

Hey Deuces, I to am a cat lover;well actually a lover of all animals. I have a number of shots of Larry ( our cat ). I will only post a couple, as I know quite often people think stuff like this is off topic. I don't necessarily subscribe to the off topic theory. To me an internet site is about the people and they are usually drawn to a site by a common interest. It is always of interest to me to hear about and or see other aspects of those peoples lives. Some of the best threads I have read on the HAMB, could in fact be considered off topic. Anyhow they are just my thoughts for what they are worth. Yeah, it should be 1/10 but you can buy the Hemi separately and it is labeled as 1/6 that way so I went with 1/6. Though if it is 1/10 it was a BIG 32 coupe when placed next to my 1/10 Daytona Coupe and GT40. Anyway, its basically a toy so I guess it really doesn't matter? You know what guys, I like animals too, steak is my favorite!! Doc.
