Trying to figure out this motor I got.Under the valve cover was 14022601(305ho)back of the block 3970010(1968 327,1969-79 350).Why would this head be on a 327/350?What are the benefits,if any?How can I tell if its a 327 or 350?Any info is appreciated-Marcus
Good set up ,If compression on your motor is lets say 8.5 to one the heads will raise it to 9. to one ,,,,At least thats what I was taught .
Smaller valve combo and I think a 58cc chamber. The HO heads are what gives the 305 better bottom end power and better mpg usually over the standard crappy 305 head. Those heads on a 350 or 327 would bump compression and also add to the torque
Im still trying to find exactly what this motor is out of but have not found a definitive answer Block vin/suffix codes are 112151281 K11 18 CKB According to Chevymania CKB=72 350 chevelle,73 350 nova,73 350 chevelle,73 350 camaro,74 350 nova,74 350 camaro,77 350 impala,88 305 impala . Head #14022601=267,305ho 79-86 Block#3970010=1968 327 1969-79 302/350 Any help with maybe narrowing this down?
I didnt want to beat on it(yet)Still need to do a few things to the car.Pulled the valve covers today and I cant believe how clean the heads are,no dirt, gunk,,just really clean. In a few weeks I will chime back in and let ya know how it runs....It sounds really good
