Somehow these two pics in particular
remind me of a certain 1960's 'car'
song. Hmmm?? They weren't taken in
'Pasadena' by any chance, were they
...perhaps a few years before the
Chrysler ragtop got traded in on "a
brand new, shiny red, Super Stock
    Dodge
    "???!!!!:eek::D:D

I can't believe hippies have made their way into this kick ass thread. All good things must come to an end I guess.

  12. LOL, yeah I didn't even think of that!

Actually it's my grandma in-law in the pics, and granddad in-law in some of the others. He was high up muckity muck with Chrysler Corp from the late 20s until he retired as production Veep or Manager of some sort at the old Jefferson Main Assembly Plant in Detroit, in 1954. The pic of Grandma was taken in front of their home in StClair Shores MI. He traded that beautiful '57 in for a '64 Chrysler ragtop.

British model Eva Rhodes who was a friend of John Lennons also met a sad end. She was murdered and buried in Hungury at the age of 65 last year.

Mrs Rhodes came to England as a child and had a successful early career as a model including an appearance in a film by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

Mart, congrats, you beat me to the little ol' lady crack, bud! No
disrespect, I'll bet they changed the oil every 3,000, kept it in a
garage, never had the top down and never had it above 3,000 rpm.

It looks like they put the top down occasionally. Nice photos. Do you have any of the '64?

Mart & DueceDon, the more things change, the more
they stay the same. The goofiness of the buxom ladies
"bobbing for spaghetti" (maybe for a charity stunt) will
never quite equal the goofiness of the group below who
were gonna elevate us to the age of -- er, uh -- OH,
    YEAH! Aquarius! LOL

  27. Couldn't locate any of the '64. I have boxes of his old slides and pictures that haven't been opened in 30 years. He took hundreds of slides and movies back in the 40s and 50s. There's likely some of the '64 someplace. If I get them I'll post 'em here.

re: the 3000 miles, only garage kept...etc. Yes that is likely correct. But Gramps would get on 'em occasionally. While he had mellowed down in his later years, he was quite the tough guy back in his prime and had some hot cars - all Mopars - when he was younger. He told stories about the early days at the plant, when the union and company "thugs" had frequent 'discussions'.

No pics of the '64, but here's one of their '54 Chrysler:

Hey! Why don't you put a huge nitro burning motor in this ugly little crate? And rip those dumbass fenders off, too.
