Got a bit done on the 1/18th diecast '34 3W this weekend and during the week. I rubbed out the paint, but I intend to repaint it; as it was a bit thin in places and I rubbed through to primer. No big deal. Yesterday I made an I-beam dropped axle and today I fitted hair pins from the parts box. Again in these images the model is only mocked up and a few of the shots are very similar to last week. I have also attached an image of how this model started out. Just to give those of you who are none model builders and idea of how much this model has been changed. Also the other week I got a new 1/18th diecast 'EH' Holden from Classic Carlectables here in Australia. Of course I had to change it from stock. I lowered it quite a bit and fitted different wheels and tyres! Geoff aka whodaky
Not a model, but a framed pic I bought on Sat as a tribute to my Dad! A cherished time from about that era for me!
whodaky, Did you explain where you got the wheel/tire combo on that '34? I want to get a set similar to those for a '40 Ford. I'd also like to swap out the SBC with a flathead with twin pots and some period speed stuff. I'll have to get pictures of the car.
How about Vic Edelbrock's V8-60 powered midget? I know it's not a traditional hot rod but also know a lot of guys on here like old midgets, and it's Edelbrock's.
Uber quality as per usual 'Maestro Whodaky'. I am digging the E.H. Please consider joining us for the Port Fairy Rod Run. If ya don't feel like drivin', you are always most velcome to join me in either the Spinner or Batmobile. cheers.
wait a minute ..... is this the new revell kit that's going to be release in january 2011 ??? somebody has an inside connection here!!!
Neat. 1/8th is my favorite scale for cars. Too bad there aren't more available. Are you on the LSM board, by any chance? Gary
That midget is clean! I have it from my hobby shop that the Revell V8 version will be released this month and the Offy in Dec. and both kits include a trailer.
