WOW!! Looking great! Giving me great ideas on what to do with my '53 more-door!

  2. Really nice ride, for what it's worth ..................Paint color close to the original with a contrasting top would be Kool. Like the trim rings on the wheels. I wish that I had kept my bumpers and done with them what you have, ............completes the car . JMO

It's all good! If I was worried about that I wouldn't be posting pictures. This is my first build (besides mini-trucks:eek:SHHH...don't tell anyone:D) and I am learning as I go and doing alot of searches on here. The HAMB has helped me ALOT with advice, ideas and mistakes to watch out for. I have a little more done on the car but I am working alot right now and haven't had time to post any new pics let alone work on the car! Good luck with your build and send some pics!

A little progress, headlight rings are welded to the car and the headlights will mount from the backside. Currently working on the tail lights but you can't see them yet!;) Here are a few before and after pics.....

Did you finish taking the chrome off of them before primering them? I can see the paint sticking to them for long if not.

Car looks hella rad by the way! I love it.

No I didn't, except for where I grinded it to weld. It's just spray can rustoleum for now to protect the welds. The car will be totally stripped down before body work and paint.

I really like the color on that car now. Think about light green metallic with silver top

49 Ford tail lights. I doing the same but mounting them the way they were and using the 49 ford quarters section. I was looking at them mounted up right. They do look good that way.

Well, they are not finished but since Racrdad is ousting me, we rolled up some buckets out of some strip metal and welded some backs on them. Here are some in progress pics

Yeah, yeah, yeah....I know ...famous last words! Its all the HAMB's fault! haha!
As far as Racrdad goes, he is family and a great friend. We have been friends for over 20 years. We have been working on each others cars and trucks ever since we first met (SHHHH, mini truck days!). He is a great motivator and his brain is always spinning and thinking of the next thing to do. Sometimes you have to slap him out of it so he will get back to work! Friends like him are hard to come by.

Thanks to RPIERCE I scored a nice power glide rear end for my car! Just waiting on him to get it out of his car this weekend. Hell of a guy too! Pics later.

  29. This might be a dumb question but what is a powerglide rear end? I thought that was the AT name for our cars?

Love your build, makes me excited to work on mine. Keep up the great work :)
