Thought i'd introduce myself. I've been a closet HAMB'er for a few months now ever since I purchased a 27' model T rat rod coupe... finally have gotten round to workin' on it. It's called "The Rusty Chum Bucket." I have a full blog with pics that I update weekly. If the admin have an issue with me referencing this I understand and please delete appropriately... Otherwise I feel it is an excellent resource for other HAMB'ers as I do all the work myself. This is my first car that I have built so it is an excellent challenge yet a fun experience...

    Please enjoy!

You can find the blog on my website at: www.whiskycityleathers.com
look under the current builds section, and enter blog and select "the rusty chum bucket"

    pitchers?

I know rat rods aren't H.A.M.B. acceptable, but we need to see a starting point. Progress pics. too.

    Welcome to the H.A.M.B.

I need to take it outside tomorrow to start blasting the sheet metal. I will get some shots of it then for you... The shots of it right now have my kids in them, and I'd rather not post those.

i have an eastwood dual blaster, soda and sand... It has a proportioning valve so I will hit 80% soda as it also etches the metal without distortion on delicate 83 year old panels, I have also used it on fiberglass of all things at 100% soda...

Well I was with ya till ya got to the chop part. Why does everyone want to chop these things and obliterate the character the tall tops have? Tall Ts are wacky!

You're gonna get some smart ass responses on here.. Alot of guys are weary of "johnny come lately" rat rodders that want to do it for shock value and it does get old around here. Just wade through it, it's sorta like hazing.

Judging from what I see on your website, you do have the patience and skills to do something clean and follow through. Good luck, you have an infinite source of information and inspiration available here on the hamb if you stick with it. Looks like that body might have some surprises under that paint. Hope it works out for you..

P.S. - Careful with that grill...it's easy to send the proportions of the car way off base when you start hanging stuff out there like that.. Maybe if you you sectioned it a tad and made the angle less severe?

Can you post bigger pics in a wider format??

  28. It looks like you have everything you need to do a good build. If you get rid of its RAT persona it has the potential of making a decent rod. As others have already stated..........that grill has to go.Keep us posted

You have a 26-27 T sedan. I would rather see it with an earlier style grill and not leaned back like that. I think that would help the proportions alot. Looks like a good start though.

Don't say Rat Rod on here..you will get in trouble.
