  24. i work in this terminal from time to time on breakdown duty. now owned by caltex, it is far different now, except these days you have to try and fit your 25m b double in the same approach chute which was really only intended for the trucks you see here

    Being left-handed and well-built, Chuck Connors was well equipped to play
    minor-league baseball or as a pro journeyman. His longest stint was in '51
    when he played 66 games for the Cubs before defecting from sports to movies
    and, eventually, TV. (In reality, he was also a tank instructor for three years
    during WWII at West Point, as well!) His entertainment career is well known.
    Four sons survive him. BTW, bogus Connors baseball cards exist, though he
    wasn't at the pro level long enough to get that honor!
