I have a 47 KB6 that I will be putting on a later model ford frame (70's f250) for my two rig. (will have a goose neck hitch)

Who else has done this and post some pics, of your classic haulers.

  2. Here is my 54 F-350. Just built a 292 for it with fenton tripower and rams horn manifolds.

  3. 1964 3/4 chev. Bought it at the local car masher for $100.oo We snached it fron the jaws of death. We have used this truck as a wrecker and pull a 20 ft tilt top and other trailers. Used it very hard it gave ten years of good service. I broke something in the rearend Saturday sounds like a tooth is gone. Also the frame has gotten bent. So now the cab and engine will soon reside on a 3/4 four wheel chassis of the same vintage. It has a heavy duty divorced transfer case. OldWolf

'47 Ford truck, 392 hemi, pushbutton trans, 9" rear, '77 F150 Front Discs, dual M/C with booster. Tows nice, but desperately needs power steering - it can be a b&^%$ backing my digger trailer up driveway!

  7. This photo, taken at the US Nationals, was a rig used by the late John Lingenfelter in the 80's.

I haul Pinocchio in a 70's built digger trailer with my color matching Dodge Ram.

Thanks Silhouettes, I admit I really get a kick out of towing with my old truck, I've even had young kids snap pics with their cell phones - I gotta wonder if I am influencing them like I was at that age. I was inspired by my friend Frank out of Macedonia. Maybe you've seen his getup: A light blue '52 Dodge pickup towing a yellow '34 Plymouth 5 window coupe drag car. Everything of his is pretty much spotless - he's a tough act to follow!!!

    BTW ScarryLarry's getup is AWESOME!!!

This photo was taken in 1976, we were on our way to Penwell. Had just bought a A/F dragster and it came with this shitty tralier. We had the 1 ton Dodge van. We were in our late teens. Fuck, we had fun.

Here's the Diamond T I'm building, a '47 201 one ton. It'll be towing our '46 Spartan Manor. Untill it's done, we're forced to use these old Pontiacs.

Do you remember what that Willys weighed? It seems it would be a little too much weight for a single axle trailer..

  23. No problem with that trailer, it has mobile home axle and wheels. It has thousands of trouble free miles. I would guess that car weighed about 2,200 pounds,

    1988 GMC Sierra 3500 4x4. It has a BBC 454 with a SM465 4-speed that is coupled to a Vendors Gear-to-Gear overdrive unit.

    I love this truck.

Might I suggest a Hitch ball on the front end.You can put a trailer anywhere in one attempt.
