I have a Rod Builder Magazine here on the end table from 1958. There is a guy in it with an axle exactly like that on a flat head powered drag car.

Finally got wheels & tires back on so it's rolling again ready to put the motor back in and start building floors.

  5. Here's a couple of an engine mockup, on an old car we been playing with. The car will sit slightly tail down or nose up whichever way you like to call it.

Too cool chris, I love the gold wires.

Thanks everyone for the mock up pics. Some quality stuff being built.
I love the before and after shots too.

Heres a couple of mine with the mock up engine. Trying to get all of the issues worked out before I install the good engine. I'm having a time with the header on the driver's side. Does not look like I will be able to use the block huggers. Anybody got any suggestions on what I can use?

Here's mine. Pretty close to ride height.

Not too much farther along, but just got some rockers and cab corner patch panels to get rid of the lower cancer. I think the Styrofoam bed is gonna stay!

  14. I mocked up my 33 ford pickup........looked it over and hooked up some wiring..started the engine and it never went into the garage again. I just kept driving it, leaky pinion seal, no floor and all. Had a length of 18 gage electrical wire for a throttle cable...2, 5/16ths bolts holding the box on etc etc.

  15. Also.........mocked up pontiac engine in my living room. Got it all disassembled and put away before the missus got home..heh heh.

This has sort of a Karmannghia feel to it.

Here's the latest mock-up. It's pretty much the final mock with a few things needed to be done, mainly the steering link and shocks.

I'll play too. The roadster hit the ground on four tires the first time last Saturday, I haven't been so stoked in a long time!
