Well this past weekend I went to the Syracuse Nationals despite all the issues. My wife had broken her foot a little earlier but my sister in law came to help out so I could go. being my we have 6 kids . Then I was trying to get the truck ready for it's longest trip away from home being it is still a pretty fresh build. Anyway Friday morning I had left my house and got about 15 miles up the road and my radiator hose popped. So I pulled off the road let it cool down and fixed the issue then proceeded to go the remaining 50 miles to the show. Got about 5 miles away and it began to pop and skip a little bit. No big deal just had to tear down the distributor and re set the points. But I did this at the show. Well now to the good stuff. During this years event I have had the pleasure in meeting many fellow HAMBr's along with some very great and talented people. The fucked up thing is I am bad at remembering names. But you guys/gals were well worth the trip this year. Mr. Norwell you are one of the people I have been wanting to meet for a while now. Your sick talent has been driving me to push myself for a while now . Even though we did not get to hang out as long as I would have wanted to I still had a great time talking with you and your friend "The wood master" his shit is out of this world. Oh yeah how can I forget that bitchin little truck of yours I wish I could have had my truck next to yours and got a picture of them together. Next time. Thanks again Jeff for a memorable time. While meeting up with Jeff my day progressed to get better I had been called out to bring my truck in this area for a photo shoot for some magazine ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qWBqbZ_QBY Then shortly after this I drove over to the are in which my friend Dave Rafferty (Raffman's) 34 had been sitting (Designers Dozen area) with our other friend Jim Sager (Ratrodride) and his Ford COE. Well this little trip went from good to great. Because I followed Raffman around the back stretch of the show to were the over pass was and was stunned when he pulled off and Darrel Mayabb stepped out of the passenger side of his car. We stayed there for a while why Darrel shot his car and then my metal Rat Fink. which had made me feel great. Then the ultimate high came Darrel asked to shoot my truck next. So I agreed and was on top of the world. I just can not wait to see the shots that he took of my little truck. To make things that much more yesterday I received an envelope from Darrel and wow !. I am just in disbelieve. My wife and kids are just as happy and well I thought I would share this with my HAMB friends as well. Thanks a million to all who had helped me with the build of this truck I really appreciate it. Oh yeah it also was shot for the Canadian rodder magazine that was there to. P.S Jeff I had a hell of a ride home those shocks came loose again and I had to pull off to tighten them up then she went down the road a lot smoother. I am going to replace the shocks and tires like you suggested in the very near future
Thanks man! Sometimes it feels like I'll never get it on the road. Stories like yours keep me motivated, so thanks!
I know the feeling well. But it is all worth it when they are out on the road. Keep up the fantastic work on that truck and before you know it you will be tearing up the black top with it. Yeah Big Tony it was a blessing that she helped us out so that I could at least make this show. Even though I had to miss the Salina, KS show this year. Oh well we can not make all of them and there is always next year. I am building a 50 Merc and plan to take it to the KKOA in Salina next year. Thanks for the comments on the truck we really appreciate it.
Lockwoodkustoms, I saw your truck throughout the weekend, but never had the chance to meet you. That is a true traditional hot rod and an inspiring piece of work. Job well done! If you come to Syracuse next year maybe we will have the opportunity to meet. -Shifter
That would be cool. I am planning on making a few more shows with it this year. Maybe we will meet up at one of them
That's one Kool truck, every time I seen it there was know one around, I want to meet you, maybe next year. Glad you had a good time!
Thanks, I swear I saw that truck in your avatar there as well. I will be back there next year we can meet up then. I am usually close by my vehicles but just never really stay right next to them . that way you can hear what people say about them...........lol
Congrats on the shoot! Your truck looks great. I didn't see it in person, I must have missed it. Maybe next year!
