Closed unless it's broke. Then open just long enough to fix it then closed again fast. If I want to see it I'll let you know. Just ask Anita and Rachel and Julie and Pam and Jessi and Tammy and Amy and Nancy... Uh, what were we talking about?
Most I.S.C.A. shows are only goin' to judge what they see, there is a spot on the judgin' sheet for engine & interior. when I was judgin' back in the day, the owner would keep an eye out for whoever was judgin' custom class, and go open up the car by the time we got there, and then close it back up once we were through. But everyone is right tho, a car, any car looks like smashed assholes when its opened up.
I broke down this weekend and opened my hood so other drivers would know I was on the shoulder for a good reason, kinda like an S.O.S. signal.A guy from a local car club even noticed stopped and asked if I needed a hand.I'm going to just start asking people if they need a hot shot or a tow truck when there hoods open. LOL!
Closed absolutely otherwise it's like dressing to go out in a killer silk suit, but leaving your zipper and pants wide open for people to check your dick out. Paul
OK. I think most eveyone agrees the hood should stay closed. So why did I spend all the time and money to detail the engine compartment. Just a thought.
I agree. If you're at one of those fancy shows make up a plaquard with the specs you want folks to know and maybe a snapshot or two. If someone wants a closer look they can ask you. Although your engine is important to you its the line of a custom that attracts the rest of the world.
I think if its got a hood, it should be closed. I rather see how well the panels line up then the chrome on the engine. Let the exhaust and the back tires show of the drive train
Maybe you did it for YOURSELF?. I don't open my hood at any events, but spent 2 hours cleaning one of my engine compartments yesterday to please myself
It's a really good way to find things that are wrong. Little leaks that point to others issues. I think of it as maintenance.
