Someone or thing that keeps a watch over the garage when you aren't there.

  3. Oh man!!! That's Big Loo from the Ideal Toy Company. Hugely collectible. I got one for Christmas in 1963. Two years later, in a testosterone frenzy, I took a ball bat to him and converted him into about 50 pieces :(. I have lamented it ever since.

At times, I have searched eBay to maybe score another one, but they get pretty pricey. If you ever need any of the miscellaneous pieces, there is a guy on eBay who goes by the name redvenom who makes and sells good quality repro parts for Big Loo and other vintage toys.

A Big Boy statue was recently stolen from around the Detroit Metro area.... It was installed just hours before it was stolen... The news said that it's valued at $30,000.00 bucks!... Yikes!

  18. I'm just finishing up my garage (sheet rock arrives on Friday), but I've long known who my silent sentinal would be. I've had this coin bank for almost forty years (beer bottle for scale). It was a gift from my grandparents.

  19. I have a life-size cardboard cutout of Richard Petty from the last full year of his teams' Cherrios sponsorship. It's tacked up on my house garage wall.

He "saved" our lives during the tornado that destroyed my home and shop seven years ago this month! He used to stand right near the back door of the house, which right next to that, was the bathroom door, as well. When the tornado hit, everything on the bottom floor of my house got scattered when the picture window got shattered - except Richard Petty, who was still standing, now a little closer to the bathroom door than before, by a foot or so! Nothing within four feet of him was amiss! And our bathroom, where me and my family were sitting the twister out, was the only untouched room in the house! Now, King Richard stands guard in the garage, right next to my storm shelter access door!

Now, as far as a living beast occupying my shop, my cat likes the garage and the shop. He won't get on my cars, but he does like the wife's convertible top! He'll just lay on it, thankfully, and not sharpen his claws on it! World's best mouser and squirrel annihilator!

  21. I guess I'd have to say the Makita girl hiding behind my air compressor in the corner. She's been in every garage I've ever had. Come to think of it, that old clock on the right has too, and it still runs, but it is one noisy bitch!!

I don't know if this qualifies as a mascot but when we moved up to this new house I brought two of our outside cats with us. So in my pole barn we installed a cat door so they can go in and out.

Building is heated. That was almost 5 years ago and to date, I have yet to see any live rodents of any size or shape in my building. They do a fine job and are great company at nite.

    Never complain......

Sculpted by one of my college buddies. He lives above the cabinet in my garage. He's supposed to scare away Murphy, but he mostly just attracts spiders.
