Does anyone recognize the '32 coupe?

The roadster Dan is building is a recreation of the car that was the 1952 Texas champion.

Awesome shot - thanks Tim. Uncle Daniel ain't changed a bit, and the little blond kid looks as to be still wet behind the ears. God bless him.

Tell Arlyn that a guy he painted a '55 Chevy from Paris,Tenn. says hello. Arlyn was in Indiana at the time. I still have the car.

I know this is bringing up an old thread but I just found it and wanted to comment.

Gene did some work on my 40 coupe back in the mid 80's. I used to spend some time at Gene's shop in Dallas. Used to watch Ronnie jig up some chassis. Bought some coil overs from Dan Evans for my 34 chevy once I recall. I have wondered what Gene was up to these days. I am glad I found this thread. I hope everyone is well.

Here is one of Uncle Daniels builds as it looks today. Owned by Charlie Duran. It ran at Caddo in the mid 50's too and looked just as nice.

They did some work on a 36 I had years ago. I have some parts of a pretty wild VW Arlen built back in the 70-80s.It had a whale tail like a Porsche, wide fenders, had three different colors on the paint job.

Was this a medium dark blue metallic color? Sectioned and chopped and smooth? If so, I think I got a good shot of it during the Troop Support Parade we put on Downtown from City Hall to Fender's. Remember that? I'll start looking for the pic, in case. Buster Powers used to see Arlen frequently.
