Looks like it's gonna be a pretty cool car, but why didn't you just use the rear window from the 52 chevy? It just seems a shame to cut up that 2 door shoe box just for the window when it looked buildable in the pictures. It's what we used to do back then, but with old cars drying up, it really pains me now to see them get cut up, and so far you've used 3 donors.
I don't mean any offense by it, but for me at least, it just takes some of the joy out of an otherwise great build.
I know I'll probably get some shit for it, but I just felt I had to mention it.
    Nice car though!

I'm glad you didn't take offense to it. It just bothered me that other people might be inspired to do the same thing, and it really bothers me to see old cars get cut up, especially 3 for one. I guess I'm looking at it from a different perspective than you though, you're in Texas, where, from what I hear, there are quite a few cars in that condition, but up here all three of those cars would probably be builders.

Wow...looks great, gonna be Bitchin' when your finished!

  10. That car's come a long way!! I dig the chop....the placement of the back glass is killer.

Extended quarters are a great mod on these cars that you don't see often enough (at least without Packard tail lights). One of the few I can think of is this '53 HT with Merc quarters....

It's a lot of work, but so worth it.

No Bags? Love it! You don't need bags to put em on the ground, just elbow grease! Nice build.

235 that car is awsome I hope to start back on my 52 this week. I bought some goodies at the round up. I bought a 50 caddy front bumper, some one piece 55 chevy tail lights lenses and some 53 mercury head light doors. My car is already chopped 4 inches and the top was laid forward. I will post some photos soon. Its probably gonna look very caddy like Im narrowing the bumper tonite. Keep the good work up and keep jumping hurdles !! P.S. bags are for groceries :D

I have a couple of weeks before I can start in on mine again... school and work. I am going to pull the body off to put in the MII front end in mine and the only accurate measurements I can find are the length of the frame and the wheelbase at 115. Do you have the measurements from the hub of the front to the front of the frame or similar for rear? Mine was "tweaked by the guy who had it before me and its all out of wack.

Thanks man- I'd appreciate it. The guy before me swapped rear ends and apparently had done something funny with the original 54 parts and some 57 steering components...
