Lonestar Roundup 2010- my story and 300 pics!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris, Apr 12, 2010.

  1. Wow. The past 4 days have been a real treat. I have never been to Texas before, so I figured a good first stab would be the roundup. Jamie and I flew into Austin late Thursday night and stayed until Sunday evening. We both had a blast- We ate, drank, partied, sun burned, drove, ate some more, partied some more, and best of all made some new friends. I met guys who are like idols to me...guys on here who I have talked to but never actually met...good to put a face with a name. Heres the guys I met while there:

    Bass
    Chris Casny
Dreadybear (Dude I called him Chaddilac at first)
    Joyo
    Bleed
    Ryan
    Marcy
    Hotrodladycruzr
    Chevygirlrox
    Hot rod pro
    Buddy Holly
    Hotware
    Mr. Ford
    BenD
    Norwell
    Weez
    Elrod
    Fidgiter
    Dennis Mcphail
    Lucky Burton
    Von Franco
    Tom Branch
    Kevin S
    Lowcab
And countless others who I have forgotten your Hamb name...take no offense...I'm bad with names :D

The show was rad. It was laid back but full of some serious talent and good times. I took a crap load of pics, so I figured I'd just throw my experience up here and narrate you guys through our weekend. Theres a lot to look at, so if your tired of the Austin threads, may wanna steer clear.

Like I said we flew into Austin late Sunday night. We went to get out rental car (I ordered a mid-size sedan) and was really bummed to find out it was a Huyundai :( The lady at the rental was super cool, and when she heard we were there for the hot rod show she upgraded us to a 2010 Mustang :D That thing has the worst blind spots ever though ;) That was the begining of the Texas attitude and hospitality. You Texans are great host, full of Texas (Longhorn) pride, smiles and charm.

We hit the sack, woke up late and hit the last half of the garage crawl. Good times and cool cars

  2. From the garage crawl we went strait to the show. I bee-lined it to the swap meet to see if I could score some stuff. Man, wish I had more cash, so goodies were to be had! But don't worry, my bag went home a lot heavier :D

Saw this just down the road from the show...I thought this shit only happened were I come from!

  12. House Industries did a lot of printing, shirts, etc. for the show. They had this set up at the shop, you choose the design, color of shirt and location on the shirt and they inc it right in front of you. AWESOME! I got a design front and back...

  13. It was now Sunday. I told Jamie that we could do whatever she wanted, even if it's not car related if she didn;t feel up to it :D But, Elrod and his Wife said the Sunday run to Lake travis was bitchin and super fun! So we decided to do it, and glad we did. Great drive out of town, beautiful lake. Everyone met on Congress St. It was a lil dreary

It was a blast. The food was awesome, music was great, cars were sweet and the people were rad. It was a trip we'll never forget and one we will do again.

If I had to sum it up in one sentence, it would be this:

    JeffereyJames, you missed out :D:D:D

    Thanks Y'all!!!!!
