I have had a few deals like this work out, and i always feel guilty afterwards, but if the guy gets what he wants and you get what you want its ok... right?

Funny thing about "making a deal". Either you're happy, or you DONT make the deal.
Guilt is only for when you did something wrong.
I've been on both sides of the deal.
Thats a nice deal right there.
    I have a 312 inna 57 ranch wagon,,,,,my birthday's comin up.
    just in case. :-D

You are one lucky dude! I paid twice that for the manifold only.

  12. I just bought a 700.00 dollar Art Morrison ladder bar package, all new in the boxes with wheel tubs still in the boxes for 200 bucks off craigslist. I couldn't even work the price down it was so cheap, felt kinda quilty thinking about it, the guy even had a print out so he knew it was worth 700.

    awesome score

  21. You took a big chance grinding the price over the phone, leaving the possibility for the seller to not feel any obligation towards you. Especially since you didn't go after it til the NEXT day, leaving the door open for him to sell to someone else for full price (or more). Just sayin

  22. after i read you post i was inspired to check out craigslist just to see what was on it and man am i glad i did
i found this( i cut and pasted theis from a p.m. to another hamber)
i haven't decoded the numbers yet to be sure what it is, but he said its a 303
it has a sold lifter cam(brand unknown) ajustable rockers, aluminum flywheel, all crome bolt ons, chrome flywheel adapter to move the starter to the pass side, edelbrock 6 deuce intake with 94's and an eelco fuel rail, adapter to an early ford trans and to bolt into the frame. i'll have to take a better look at the trans to see if it has zepher gears
also i got the rear axle (40) with an old chrome spring still attached
the motor hasnt been run in a long time. i have some marvil mistery oil in the cylinders and i'll put it on the stand tomorrow and take the pan off to see what kind of rods are in it
i am don't have a clue what this stuff is worth, but this is alot of cool parts all in one spot
it was in a 40 coupe that his dad built and now he is putting a sbc and th350 witha a camaro 10 bolt its a shame
    tk
