But, to get back to your question of color selection for the striping, I think you made the right choice.....(and that goes for your engine selection, too!)
Too hard to tell. I think you need an out door shot away from the glare of the indoor lights & camera Flash........ in the sunlight...... do you guy's get sunlight in England??? Your ride looks Killa from the rear regardless...... love the Flake.
Man, that thing is sooo detailed, love it. p.s. you forgot to block the license in the pic before the last Rich
Looking great! Details really lift this car another couple of notches(as if it needed any!) probably sometime around June maybe
Thought i would post a few finished pics seeing as you guys will never see it in the flesh No sun i'm afraid, well it is england It was just going to the trimmers to have the top material put on here.
Pictures don,t do this paintjob justice , I.ve seen this with the sun on it ,ok it was only shining in through the workshop window but it looks fantastic.
Langy That's one cool build . Two questions: What did the cam come out of that you used for a rear bumper? that sucker must be 4 foot long When will you post a video of that bad-boy running?
Its 2 cams welded together, Thanks for the positives, Video coming quite soon, The tyre sticker is no more
<HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d1d1e1; COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message --> Well the top is finally going on , various things have got in the way of the top but what counts is its nearly there, Steve Hudson had a gap in his diary this week so made a start on it. This is where the best laid plans went wrong I wanted to trailer it to Steves but my trailer was too big for his road so i drove 50 miles to borrow a smaller one, this is where it started to go wrong. I phoned my mate and asked him to measure the trailer width, his reply 76" great as my car is 70" wide. Got the trailer to the car and my mate Adam said it looks a bit of a tight fit Measured trailer to find it 67" wide, didn't realise my mate was dyxlecsic So off with the wheels and on with the front 4" wheels off the Fordson, still to wide, the sky is now looking very black with rain Last ditch was to remove the brake drums and it just rubbed the sides and fitted on Next problem is Steve lives on a hill and we now have no brakes Apologies for the naff pics, they are from an i fone as i forgot my digicam First Steve made paper templates and then cut it all out in some cheap vinyl so i could have a look and make any alterations, Steve is great to work with and don't mind altering stuff he also takes real care of your car when working on it by tapeing foam everywhere or maybe he has a foam fetish Next we spent a couple of hours trying Steves patience with lots of small mods to the shape Finally we got it how i wanted it to look Steve is now going to transfer the mockup in to White Everflex hood material
Very nice. Are you pleased with the way it drives/handles? Good to see you put the steering wheel on the correct side!
Just been round to Professor Hudson's to check its how i wanted the roof Top job by Steve, Its exactly how i wanted it to look, Couldn't pick up the car as it was pissing down and Steve has a little clean up to do but can't wait to get it home Can ya tell i'm pleased with it Crap photo from an I Phone
I'm over the moon with Steve's work, He has done everything exactly as i asked, i know i'm a fussy fucker but Steve never complained once and the bill was exactly as he quoted (something some other trimmers should take note of) I'm not going to mention the cost but will say it was very reasonable and less than most. There is one little niggle that most people probably won't notice and i'm not going to point it out and Steve offered to do the whole job again at no extra cost but as he had been so good i will live with it. Here's some better pics, The flake don't show in the pics even in todays bright sunlight but it does in the video below Video
Cool, I was wondering how this car came out. Nice attention to detail. I love all the rivited spears around the hood, head lights, etc. etc. etc.........
You need to get your rocket an agent. There can't be another like it in the UK and I bet you would get some offers of movies or commercials with it.
Thats a great walk around video Steve, BUT I was really hoping it was at least running since you had sound Kidding aside that car is a labor of Love,Awsome Tony
Tony wll do another as soon as I get someone to hold the camcorder hope to speak soon as I need some olds bits for another 394 I'm doing
Thanks for the thumbs Its been a long involved project and there have been problems along the way but i'm pleased with the look it has, there have been a few critics of it here in the UK but i don't think they understand the 60's look i was trying to achieve, I get lots of people asking why the rear of the car is so high and when i tell them you can see they just don't get it, Thats rodding i guess At least it don't look like another belly button 32
