Are all phaetons' tubs? I believe this is a phaeton as well, it is a '32 and not a roadster.

A phaeton is an open four or five seater open car with separate windshield posts and side curtains- your pic shows a cabriolet - 2 seater with fixed windshield posts and roll up windows.

  12. I dunno. I was sure that there was a "two door phaeton deluxe" body style Ford offered. Maybe I need another cup of coffee.

My Avatar is my tub. I don't have better picture right now.

Yes there was - 1930 Model A deluxe phaeton - but it was a two door not a two seater - it had four/five seats. Have another cuppa joe...

  14. yep. On the coffee now.

    Spyder,
Here's my 2-Door Phaeton Deluxe. To my knowledge, 30/31 is the only years that Ford offered a two door phaeton.

I heard he couldn't figure out how to put the rat rod together, so he went out and bought a phaeton. That's going to be two cars ruined, not counting that bone stock, junkie model A coupe he has:D

Sorry to be the tolken young guy asking the dumb question, but does that mean the T-touring cars are also considered phaetons?

It means Phaeton is a word Ford stole from Carriages to make Fords sound classier. Before 1929, Fords were everyman's car. Ol' Hank changed the design and spiffied up the name. for an "all new Ford" But by the actual definition from horse and buggy days they are all phetons.. Two bench seats and a folding top.............so to answer your question. No, but yes.

Firerod, I really like that. Is that a complete A chassis and running gear?
