Last time I was there it still had the prop on it. Looks like some one has been picking through it. Have you seen the old Sadam air field fire truck?

Second picture is fuzzy, might be a Soviet-era rocket launcher....Colts still fly in many parts of the world, though this one is long past that....Iraq bought lots of American and British aircraft during the '30s and '40s, would be cool to find one from that era.

    Thanks for your service!

Army shit? Dont you mean real mens stuff?:D........Damn AF pukes......;)

Yeah thats an AN-2, drafty, bumpy, rattle like mad but are built like a bulldozer. Jumped out of one a few times, I think that was better than landing in it!!:p

That looks like a barrel from an anti aircraft artillery peice, 40mm? Whatever its a small caliber. The interesting and possibly alarming thing is the cable running away to the right of the picture from it. Can you say 'Command detonated IED?'

That'll buff right out. First produced in 1948, still being built in China. Supposed to be quite the workhorse. Here's what it probably looked like a few years ago.

Some Alpha Hotel had a tank run over them, ruined some nice stuff. Heard the An-2 engine was a copy of our B-17 engine.

The item in the foreground is a gun barrel. Most likely anti-aircraft. Smallish caliber, judging by the recoil spring. Maybe 20mm, tops. Probably Soviet, maybe a ZU or ZPU series. The Russians left AA guns all over the middle east. I have restored some.

  29. Get some duct tape & fly that puppy home... The story behind these pics is that a cooler with bait & fish was left in the plane & bears did this to get to the food..
