That little coupe, just looks flat out scary.

I thought the 56 T bird with the cammer looked frightening, but the coupe must have took some GIANT brass balls, to hammer on!

The coupe is on a 427 cobra chassis. Those photos were taken in '76, the car was later rebodied and restored as a Cobra. I realize the dollar value of a real Cobra, but still I'd love to have a duplicate of that car to finish and drive!

That was not a kit. That is a genuine 1966 AC Cobra chassis.

Why hasnt anyone reduplicated the pete robinson gear drive? It looks simple. How was it a drag racer was able to do this in the sixties and no one can do it today?

Vintage 66 galaxie with a cammer in it.This might be the one factory installed galaxie. Its a shame that it didnt take off.Imagine all of the cars that could of had this engine if it was an engine option when you ordered your new ford or merc.

And there was also Canadian, Scott Wilson and his
Cammer-powered "Time Machine" dragster. Ford of Canada sponsored the car and Wilson also got some R&D and tech support from Pete Robinson. Later, when Ford quit racing and stopped sponsoring Wilson and also stopped any further support or development of the SOHC engine, Wilson switched the car over to 'conventional' 426-style Chrysler power.

Right near the top of my "what if" dream car list
has always been to have a chopped and lowered
'53 Studebaker 2dr sedan with a Cammer under
the hood. Am I the only one with this particular
    sickness????:eek::eek:

"Bad ass Cammer"? Is there any other
    kind???:D

Thanks for the great Stude pics. The
third pic you posted.....the one of the
"in the weeds" black '53 sedan just
about does it for me! Bodywise, all I'd
do differently to that one, to build my
ultimate "what if" and "moiney and time
    are no object
    " Cammer-powered Stude
"dream car', would be to chop the top
about 3 inches, maybe graft a gennie
'57 T-bird scoop onto the hood, ( Hey,
    a big ol' Cammer's gotta' breath, don't
cha' know! :D), paint the chrome front
bumper body color ......and maybe add
    some Moon spun aluminum Bonneville-style
    wheel covers! Being the mild-mannered,
    very socially responsible and economically
frugal guy that I am though:)D), and since
this would just be a street engine :)D), I
think I'd leave the Cammer engine pretty
    much bone stock.....other than starting
with an aftermarket aluminum block, a
4.25 or so inch billet stroker crank and a
set of Carrillo billet titanium connecting
    rods!!! :D:D:D

I feel the 'sickness' coming back again
.....big time. I think I need to go out
now and buy some lottery tickets.
    <lol>:D:D:D

Ken;that black Stude is beautiful!!!I'm not a fan of big wheels but those fit that car. That has got to be the best looking Stude I've ever seen.I don't know if you could fit a cammer under the hood, those years of Studebakers had low hood lines. ROY.

I have seen this sort of setup before. One of my former customers from my SnapOn days had built something just like this. His name is Larry Kalsch out of Hillsboro Or. He can and does build them now. he also has built a belt driven system. I can round up his number if someone wants it. just PM me.

Did you see the "Dyno Don" on the valve cover?
I think Shannon Hunt in OR owns that one,

  25. For all the mid westerners, may I test your memory? My late cousin, David Costanza from Ashley Ind. bought a SOHC motor direct from Holman & Moody sometime around 69' or 70'/ It was to go in a 65 Corvette convertible. Well the project never materialized and the engine was sold. David ran the Vette in B/F Altered class with a stroked 327 (352 c. i. ) & Torqueflight. Yea, it was a long time ago but I always wondered what ever happend to that motor, or the car for that matter. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone?
