go ahead and shoot me now but.... I dont think I have ever seen the dual offset quad headlight assm of lets say a 65 corvair used. I know it post 64 but.... and its a corvair. I think they would look great along side the grill shell of a show rod or on the front of a 50 ford with a floating grill.
I'll just assume that you will post pics from start to finish as you do this right? Been in the back of my head for years on my 54....
In the spirit of keeping this great thread alive, Here is another group...I borrowed most of these shots from Riksters site, a treasure trove of all things kustom...Just giving credit where its due...
yea for what ever reason I seemingly have neglected to document the entire build process for my 54? I really should start though. so the more I look at them I think that maybe the edsel or 59 chevy would work better than the 58 lincolns, because they are considerably smaller lenght wise and the 53 54 fenders do not lend themselves to lots of room in that direction. none the less here are some of my favs!!!
AS far as I know, this car is still MIA. here is how I saw it about 10 years ago. It's a far cry from what it looked like in the early 60's.
it seems that the tri 5's are naturals for the canted quads. I really dig seeing old customs unearthed. you always here and see an old A or duece pulled out of the barn but to see an old custom pulled out makes my heart flutter a bit does any one have a survivor that they are currently putting back together?
holy crap that thing is perfect!!! do you know what it had for power? love the stude pans in the back!
man that thing is nice! i dont think those or studebaker pans out back though looks home made or something, look at the lenny legere 51 ford wild kustom that has studebaker pans front and back
I love canted quads. I've always wanted to do a custom tri-five. I remember reading about a '56 Chevy that was customized when new, it had canted quads of course, and about a million and one scoops all over the body, I think they called it "Scoopy". I also remember something about a '40 Ford or Merc, I believe had "Chariot" in the name, had one side canted, the other side horizontal. Anyone know what I'm talking about, or have any pics? Oh, and more Corvettes please!
That Chevy you're talking about was a '58 that was built by Joe Bailon. It had factory quad headlights that were peaked and scooped.. It did have several scoops all over it, too many in fact.. I remember reading that it went to Hawaii at some point and was totaled in a traffic accident...
