Customs What defines a mild custom

I know this is probably a dumb ass question,but what really defines the meaning of a mild custom. I did a search and to my suprise i came up short.I am sure there are a lot of different opinions on this subject,so i thought i would ask....thanks

 

non-chopped, sectioned or grafted. usually lowered, shaved, nosed, decked, frenched any combination of these. not usually radical change from original. open to many opinions on this topic.

 

whatever you want to define it as.

 

I had the same question about regular chedder, sharp chedder, and extra sharp chedder.

 

I know you don't do any of that White Cheddar...Only ORANGE Cheddar, Right?

 

If it's a mild custom, you can still tell what kind of car they started with..

 

Sure, think something your average person could do at home. Lowering, shaving trim, custom upholstery, minor body mods, ect...

Extra Sharp cheddar is inappropriate on a mild custom. Limburger too.

 

nothing..that was as mild as i could go today.

 

Store-bought made in China fuzzy dice are wrong.

Traditionally;
Fuzzy dice were hand crocheted by your girl friend and SHE hung them up in your car the same way she hung your high school ring around her neck and let it dangle in her cleavage.
The ring told other guys they better not try going there, and the fuzzy dice symbolically meant she controlled some fuzzy things of yours.
If you broke up she took her dice back and probably threw your ring down a storm drain, but if you stayed together, the fuzzy dice got replaced by some baby shoes....

Mild custom = show class rules. A mild custom is more what it's not than what it is.chop a top or section or channel and leave everything else bone stock and it's a radical custom.
The posted Ford and Impala are good examples.

Thanks for the historical on ''fuzzy dice'' ( as he draws a cold shudder), i'll never look at a pair the same again!

I'm seein' alot of ''soft kustoms'' that could pass as street rods, given some choices being made with tyre,wheel, chassis, power train & colour choices!

Whats the difference between ketch-up, fancy ketch-up and extra fancy ketch-up. And lets not even confuse the whole mess with catsup!

 

Nosed,decked,lowered,frenched,shaved,tuck & roll,stance and attitude. That's a 50's mild kustom. Like my 50 Buick Sedanette.

 

heres mine no bumpers diffrent grill some louvers and custom paint..jones

 

it's sitting next to the "Hot" and "Fire" customs

Pretty good explination, there are always exceptions to the rule but for the most part I would agree with this. Jim

 

Some folks would say those are both mild customs... unless that Ford is chopped and doesn't look like it.

And others, rules, sometimes have a set limit on the number of "changes" that define the mild...
It's all a just bunch of anal trophy rules that don't matter in real life anyway...

Mild Custom; No Chop, No section, No Channel. Nosed, Decked, Frenched, A good Close shave Cleaned up and simple. The kind of job any Jo can afford or do himself. Mostly working with stock lines and pieces. Here is my example of how I did it.
