Is this an old picture or a well-done comtemporary? That is one sweet looking 51 back there. Also noticed the F100 at the right.

    Sweet picture.
    Looks like a flathead.
I wonder if its ex-military...or were the cops able to get new H-D 45's?

Reminds me that my oldest brother lived in a little central California town, Gustine.
In 1956 They bought a new 56 Ford police car. One week later, it was STOLEN.
I don't know if they ever recovered it or not.

    TomWar,

So that would've had a 272 Y-block in it, right?
Back in the 70's, I saw an ad for a nice '56 Vicky. The owner stated it had a "256 Police Interceptor" engine in it.
I guess that "interceptor" mod could be made to any of those Y-blocks...even the Mercury's! ;)

What did that mod entail again?

Here's one from Cranbrook BC. It was entered in the local Mopar Show last weekend.

This is My bike 1928 JD Harley Police model. The battery on the back is actually a "ONE WAY" receiver radio. You could only listen to police calls and not acknowledge the dispatcher. It has every aftermarket option that was available at the time.

A buddy put on a little car show and he had a vintage PAINTED cop car come out. The cop had a little fun with me:eek:[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
